Elizabeth Taylor’s Legacy Makes History At Christie’s

November 23, 2011

By far one of the most recognizable faces in cinema is Elizabeth Taylor’s. Those seductive violet eyes that left men weak in the knees and sent women scrambling back to their looking glass for a quick powder and touch of rouge, will be remembered with iconic nostalgia for generations to come. It is not surprising then, her vast personal collection of rings, necklaces, bracelets and brooches, gifts showered upon her by the sea of hearts she conquered over a lifetime, pieces she designed herself, have been the frenzied focus of media attention and the objects of obsession for her adoring public.

Marc Porter, chairman and president of Christie’s Auction House of America, announced that Liz Taylor’s personal ensemble is the “largest privately held jewelry collection ever assembled in one place”. The auction will be held at Christie’s in NY, where anyone willing to become the highest bidder may become the guardian of her most intimate treasures. Beginning in September, Ms. Taylor’s personal effects made appearances in Moscow, and continued with stops in London, Paris and Los Angeles, only to name a few of the cities that were eager to behold such glamorous reminders of the beloved starlet.

The auction will take place at 20 Rockefeller Plaza and begins at 7:00 in the evening of December 13, 2011. It is unusual to commence a jewelry auction at such a late hour, but in reminiscence of the glamour and excitement that red carpet royalty, like Elizabeth inspired, the auction has been scheduled for just such a time. Christie’s has put an estimate of 30 million dollars on Elizabeth’s exclusive collection, and while not all attending the auction may be able to afford to take home a piece of the collection, for a $30 admission, anyone can say they came and witnessed history take place that night, at Christie’s.

Ms. Taylor’s timeless style has inspired jewelry designers and fashionista’s the world over and never more so than now, when all we have to hold and draw her near are the treasures she left behind. Designer pieces from Cartier, Bulgari, Tiffany, gifts from the men in her life , such as Hilton, Fisher, and Burton, (to whom she was married twice) to name only a few, could not help themselves but to shower her with trinkets and tokens of their irresistible attraction to all that she was. People.com has a great slide show, highlighting her greatest  love affairs and the men she married. After you relive for yourself the romance and the heartbreak of her stellar life go to Christie’s and see the dazzling expressions of sparkle and glamour that will always be Elizabeth Taylor. The next time you see a ring, necklace or pendant that is dripping with diamonds, set in platinum, white gold or cobalt, think of the beauty that inspired it all!

Heavy Stone Cobalt Rings – Spotlight On A Pioneer Of The Industry

November 15, 2011

How It All Began

The setting, Utah, 2001. It was then, that Chad Anderson, of Heavy Stone Rings, began forging through and cultivating an industry as uncharted as the frontier of centuries past. While the majority of manufacturers saw only the track record and history of precious metals, such as gold or platinum, Heavy Stone Rings could see that changes were looming upon the horizon and the future would soon tell a very different tale. One that saw, more contemporary metals, standing tall against yesterday’s players.

By 2004, consumers who just one year prior, had never even heard of the now ever-popular contemporary metal, Tungsten, were now visiting their trusted retailers asking for tungsten bands from Heavy Stone Rings by name. Ron Yates, founder of  leading online retailer, Titanium-Jewelry.Com, stated that, “it used to be that gold or platinum was the only way to go for wedding bands, but today, soon-to-be newlyweds are turning to a wider variety of alternative metals for their wedding bands.” For this reason Titanium-Jewelry.Com, works hard to keep a steady and full selection of dozens of styles of contemporary metal jewelry, specifically from Heavy Stone Rings, due to their longevity in understanding the cutting edge desire of their consumers.

The Journey Continues

Once again Heavy Stone Rings has managed to be at the fore-front of latest big thing to hit the jewelry world, cobalt wedding bands. Tungsten, while continuing to be a success in it’s own right is finding steady competition with cobalt by reason of its eternal radiance and scratch resistant properties. Heavy Stone, due to the fact that they are one of the oldest, alternative metal manufacturers in the industry, has vast knowledge and experience in forging this newest alternative metal to perfection.

Retailers and consumers are not the only ones who recognize the unique brilliance in the designs of this family owned U.S. manufacturer. The industries lead trade publication and leading authority Jewelers Circular Keystone, otherwise known as JCK, awarded Heavy Stone Rings The JCK Jewelers Choice Award 2011 for Best Men’s Jewelry Piece for their Williams Cobalt Chrome Ring. This is an honor only bestowed upon top-notch manufacturers for their state-of-art designs from among their peers. Chad Anderson, owner of Heavy Stone, admits that their “cobalt rings make up nearly 50% of their total wedding bands sales”. He says that “the unique properties of the metal allows us to have some creativity and flexibility in designing new styles. With the rising cost of precious metals, the future of our American made cobalt line is bright.” He also makes a point of keeping production here in the U.S. “Heavy Stone Rings does not outsource overseas”.

Because of their expertise in creating a custom designed cobalt wedding band, they are proud to offer laser engraving of any text, in any font on the inside or outside of your cobalt ring. Their rings also come with a life-time warranty. They will replace of repair any defective ring for any reason. This includes free re-sizing of any of their standard rings.

More To Come

Heavy Stone Rings has much to be proud of and leaves no room for doubt as to why they are looked to as an industry leader. We have much to look forward to, as we keep a hungry eye on this time tested pioneer of cutting edge contemporary metals, as they continue to introduce us to all that is possible in the world of  jewelry design.

Benchmark Cobalt Rings – The Newest Addition To A Family Legacy

November 8, 2011

Benchmark:  definition – The standard by which something must be measured or judged.

In 1973 Tom Tosyali began a legacy in Tuscaloosa AL, that has left countless lovers of fine jewelry, breathless. For over 40 years Benchmark has been one of the few designers to use precision-setting, which allows as much of the diamonds surface as possible to be displayed while also providing superior security for the stones. The addition of cobalt chrome to Benchmarks line of jewelry is a natural and obvious choice for a company who has built such a distinguished reputation for crafting each ring to a perfect form, shape and purpose. Their technique, so highly specialized, has taken years to develop and perfect. They were also the first to introduce the comfort fit design to the U.S. This design allows for a better fit, and since the inside of the ring is curved, it does not cut your finger during wear.

Benchmark cobalt chrome rings are manufactured right here in the U.S. They sell 400,000 rings a year, 250,000  in the U.S. alone. That kind of excellence is not taken lightly by Titanium-Jewelry.Com, a company that takes pride in being the leading online retailer of Benchmark cobalt rings. Benchmark Cobaltchrome has become best known for its incredible characteristics like being shatterproof, scratch resistant and having a permanent high luster. This metal is virtually maintenance free, a huge plus to today’s man who makes a well earned living with his hands. Consumers find added value by taking advantage of Benchmark’s Life-Time Guarantee. Just register your Benchmark cobalt rings with them online to receive free resizing or refurbishing for life in case your finger changes size over the course of time.

How can you be reassured that your own band is authentically counted among Benchmarks cobalt chrome rings?
